CSRA Greyhound Adoptions of Augusta, Georgia was featured in the Sunday, May 27th edition of the Aiken Standard of Aiken, South Carolina. The adoption group sponsored a promotional event at the local Pet Smart in Aiken to bring awareness to adoptions of retired racers. "So far we've gotten three applications for adoptions, all for the greyhounds that came in Friday from Montgomery, Ala. They'll be ready to go to new homes in about 10 to 12 days," said Jeanne McGee, vice president of CSRA Greyhound Adoptions and coordinator of the meet-and-greet. Most of the greyhounds that enter the adoption market are not rescued dogs.Their lives are generally not endangered, nor for that matter are they even compromised. Most retired racing greyhounds have led good lives up until retirement eating nutritious food and getting adequate veterinary care.

This guy could be lime green and he would be beautiful inside and out. He was my 10 year anniversary (of having greyhounds) gift to myself. I got to watch him grow up from 3 weeks old so he and I have an amazing bond. Thank you for the nice complime…
